Personal car sourcing

You describe the car. We find the one that checks out.

Sourcing means we do the hunting, the checking and the haggling — and you skip the weekends of classifieds. You get a car with its full story published, negotiated by someone whose only incentive is getting it right for you.

A sourcing brief takes two minutes · Personal reply within one working day · No obligation until you approve a specific car

How it works

Three steps, no surprises

  1. Your brief

Fill in the brief below — the car, your budget, must-haves and deal-breakers. We confirm the details and agree the search before anything else happens.

  2. Search, check, inspect

We search dealers, auctions and the private market. Shortlisted cars get a full history, finance and MOT check, and a physical inspection before you hear about them.

  3. Approve, negotiate, drive

You see the car, the checks and the proposed price in one summary. Approve it and we negotiate and handle the handover — or walk away with no fee owed.

Market-wide search

We look beyond the listings you can see: trade networks, auctions and incoming stock, filtered hard against your brief.

Verified history

Finance, write-off status, mileage record and keeper history checked on every candidate — and the results shown to you, not summarised away.

Physical inspection

A trained eye on the shortlist: bodywork, tyres, service evidence and a proper test drive — before you spend a Saturday on it.

Negotiation

We negotiate the purchase price on your behalf and confirm the final number in writing before you commit to anything.

Plain-English paperwork

The V5C, service history and any warranty terms explained when you collect — with a file of every check we ran.

The Khan Cars standard

Every sourced car is published with its checks under the same standard as our forecourt cars: history, finance and MOT status in the open.

Our fee

A flat fee, agreed up front

Sourcing is a paid service, and we think you should know exactly what it costs before you start. The Khan Cars sourcing fee is a flat fee agreed with you when we agree the brief — it doesn’t grow with the value of the car, and it’s only due when you buy a car we found for you. If we don’t find a car you approve, you pay nothing.

Exact fee levels are being finalised before launch and will be published here. Anything a competitor might quote you, we’ll beat on transparency if not on price.

There is no obligation at the brief stage. The fee is confirmed in writing with your brief summary before any search begins.

FAQs

Sourcing questions, answered straight

What if I don’t like any car you find?
Then you walk away owing nothing. We agree the brief and the fee first, and the fee is only payable when you buy a car we found and you approved.
Do you charge a percentage of the car’s value?
No. The Khan Cars fee is flat, agreed before the search starts. Percentage fees quietly reward your agent for letting you spend more — we’d rather not.
Can you source cars anywhere in the UK?
The search is national; the physical inspection covers anywhere we can reach — tell us your location in the brief and we’ll confirm what’s practical before you commit.
What about part-exchanging my current car?
Mention it in the brief. We’ll look at your car honestly, and if selling it separately gets you more overall, we’ll say so — even though it costs us the easy route.
Is this a finance broker?
No — we are not authorised to arrange finance and we won’t pretend otherwise. If you’re interested in finance options we’ll flag it in your reply so you can speak to a properly authorised provider.
